Who we are

We are a group of geoscientists, engineers, and computational scientists who work on different aspects of the Earth's cryosphere. Our work is spread across three distinct units at the University of Texas.

We use a variety of methods to study the cryosphere

  • In-situ Observations

    Using a range of instruments to observe the more inaccessible parts of the cryosphere including airborne geophysics, drones, and GPS

  • Computational Sciences

    Applying advanced mathematical methods and simulation techniques to improve our understanding of the role of the cryosphere in the Earth System

  • Satellite Observations

    Making use of existing ‘big data’ reservoirs and advanced data science techniques to analyse and understand change in the cryosphere over time
